Longleaf Healing Arts

Policies

Please give at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.

Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged 50% of the session fee. No-shows will be charged the full session fee.

I understand that emergencies, illness, caregiving needs, and unexpected life circumstances happen. These situations will be handled with care and discretion. This policy helps me respect both your needs and the value of my time, preparation, and labor.

Cancellations and Rescheduling

Intake and Consent

All new clients will complete an intake form before their first session. Intake helps me understand your goals, health history, contraindications, allergies, injuries, surgeries, medications, comfort needs, and any boundaries or preferences you want me to know.

All sessions are guided by communication, consent, and choice. You are welcome to ask questions, request adjustments, change pressure, decline any technique, pause, take a break, remain clothed, or end a session at any time.

Consent is ongoing, and your “no,” “not today,” or “I need something different” will be respected.

Accessibility and Comfort

Your comfort matters. Please let me know about access needs, positioning needs, sensory preferences, allergies, scent sensitivities, mobility concerns, temperature preferences, communication preferences, or anything that would help the session feel safer and more supportive.

Sessions can be adapted with bolsters, pillows, blankets, pressure adjustments, silence, conversation, breaks, fully clothed options, or changes in positioning depending on the service.

Draping

Professional draping is required for all massage and bodywork sessions. I do not offer undraped work.

You will be covered with sheets, towels, or blankets throughout the session, and only the area being worked on will be uncovered. Draping supports privacy, comfort, warmth, consent, lawful practice, and professional boundaries. You are welcome to ask questions about draping before or during the session, and I will adjust within professional standards to support your comfort and sense of safety.

Scope of Practice

Longleaf Healing Arts offers massage, Reiki, and herbal wellness support for relaxation, stress reduction, pain relief, mobility, grounding, and embodied restoration. I do not diagnose, prescribe, treat medical conditions, or replace care from a physician, therapist, physical therapist, psychiatrist, or other licensed healthcare provider. When something is outside my scope of practice, I will say so clearly and refer you to an appropriate professional when possible.

Boundaries and Safety

Longleaf Healing Arts is a professional healing arts practice. My intention is to create a space where clients can feel respected, grounded, and supported.

Sexual behavior, sexual comments, harassment, intimidation, discrimination, threats, or disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated. If a boundary is crossed, the session will end immediately and full payment may still be required.

Trauma-Informed Care

Trauma-informed care means I will not assume I know what safety, comfort, or healing means for you. I will invite communication, respect your boundaries, and move at the pace of consent.

You do not need to explain your trauma history in order to receive care. You are welcome to share only what feels relevant and supportive for the session. My role is to offer skilled, respectful care while honoring your agency, privacy, and body wisdom.

Illness and Late Arrival

Please reschedule if you are experiencing fever, vomiting, diarrhea, contagious illness, active infection, unexplained rash, or symptoms of COVID, flu, or another communicable illness.

I will also reschedule if I am sick or believe it is not safe to provide care. Rescheduling for illness is an act of community care and helps protect both of us and the wider community.

If you arrive late, your session may need to end at the original scheduled time so that I can maintain the flow of the day and prepare for the next person. The full session fee will still apply. I will do my best to help you settle into the time that remains without rushing your body or the session.

Payment

Payment is due at the time of service. Longleaf Healing Arts uses a three-tier sliding scale: Access, Sustain, and Nurture. Clients are invited to choose their rate with honesty and care.

Accepted payment methods: Cash, Credit / Debit, ACH Venmo, Apple Pay

Client Records

Client information is kept private and used only for scheduling, intake, session planning, documentation, and business records. I will not share your personal information without your permission unless required by law. Client records will be stored securely. You are welcome to ask questions about your records or request updates to your information at any time.
